The most powerful servers, optimised for critical loads.

The highest reliability, security and performance requirements to get the most out of your data

High Grade dedicated servers are optimised to meet the new challenges of converged infrastructures and storage. These platforms are powered by AMD EPYC and Intel Xeon Gold processors, and integrate seamlessly into your architecture. You can use them to run industry-leading software and solutions.

Designed by our experts in partnership with leading hardware manufacturers, High Grade dedicated servers meet the very highest standards to help you achieve your goals. With an availability rate (SLA) of 99.99%, you get all the guarantees you need to host your private cloud or hybrid cloud infrastructure.

It offers a combination of high computing power, a very high-bandwidth network (up to 50 Gbps*) and high storage density, delivering everything you need for hyperconverged infrastructures (HCI), software-defined storage (SDS) and highly resilient environments.

Servers for critical uses

The High Grade server range is flexible, and can be adapted to suit specific and critical workloads. These platforms have a very different design — they offer more computing power for hyperconverged infrastructures (HCI), more storage for software-defined storage (SDS), and high-capacity disks for data storage and archiving. Select the server that best suits your needs, then deploy your project.

An innovative high-speed network

Communication between your machines is a structural element. It is important to keep this in mind when you design your private cloud, or launch your cluster. Once you have enabled the OVHcloud Link Aggregation (OLA) feature, you get an internal, secure network with nearly 50Gbit/s* for transferring data between your servers.

*The OVHcloud Link Aggregation feature must be enabled and configured to use all four network links.

Availability, reliability and security

To guarantee optimal uptime, our platforms include a redundant physical network (four redundant interfaces), a dual power supply, and disks that can be hot-swapped. The different types of SSDs (SAS, SATA and NVMe) can be replaced in the event of failure, without the need to reboot the server. Need more storage space? You can add one or more disks without any service interruptions.

Features

IPv4 and IPv6 addresses

Each server has a public IPv4 address and an IPv6 address range. As an option, you can rent additional IPv4 addresses for your dedicated server (up to 256 per machine).

1Gbit/s guaranteed and unlimited public bandwidth

Your server has a default minimum bandwidth. Incoming and outgoing traffic is unlimited and free (with the exception of our datacentres located in the Asia-Pacific region). You can also increase your bandwidth.

Service Level Agreement - 99.99%

All of the servers in the range have a 99.99% SLA, ensuring the best availability for your business applications.

vRack private network - 10Gbit/s - guaranteed and unlimited

Your server is delivered with our private physical network — the vRack. This means you can create your own cluster, or include your server in an existing infrastructure. It is fully isolated from the internet, and delivered at no extra cost.

OVHcloud Link Aggregation

The OVHcloud Link Aggregation feature maximises the availability of your dedicated servers. You can enable it via the OVHcloud Control Panel to group your network links (public and private). This ensures service continuity, and a very high-bandwidth private network for your most critical applications and distributed systems.

Dual power supply (2xPSU)

Power supply is one of the key components of guaranteeing an infrastructure’s availability. Depending on how critical your project is, a dual power supply is an important aspect of avoiding any downtime. Service interruptions can prove costly in terms of both business and brand image.

Hot swap disks

The hot swap feature can be used to change or add disks without service interruptions. This guarantees constant uptime for your services.

Our 3-AZ Region in Paris

This solution allows you to deploy a cluster of 3 Scale or High Grade dedicated servers spread across our Availability Zones (AZ) around Paris. Thus, you benefit from a very low latency network (under 3 mins) and a minimum distance of 30 km between the Availability Zones, which makes it easy to deploy critical workloads requiring high availability and resilience.

Operating systems and applications

Many operating systems and applications are available to be automatically installed via your OVHcloud Control Panel. This includes various operating systems (Windows Server, Debian, Ubuntu or AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux), Plesk and cPanel web management interfaces, and also Microsoft SQL Server for databases. Virtualisation solutions like VMware, Proxmox and Windows Hyper-V are also available.

Use cases

Hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI)

Adapt your infrastructure for intensive and strategic workloads with optimised, high-performance servers.

Software-defined storage (SDS)

Manage, protect and store data while optimising your infrastructure costs, with a server that is adapted to suit your business requirements.

FAQ

What is a High Grade server used for?

High Grade servers are adapted to meet new challenges surrounding converged infrastructures and storage. They meet the requirements of critical workloads and highly resilient infrastructures.

How do I choose where my data is stored?

You can deploy your data in our certified datacentres across the globe. Host your data as closely as possible to your users, and your company’s regulatory requirements.

Are High Grade servers certified?

Your dedicated servers are ISO 27001 certified, which certifies that strict data security processes are implemented.

What is the difference between a high-performance server and a standard server?

Each project is unique — not all of them require large amounts of resources, or specific features. While a standard server is usually enough to launch a website or application, other projects will require a high-performance server with a higher quality of service. Our premium servers are designed for all high-value projects that require increased performance, and resources that can meet growing needs. They are designed with the best components available for datacentres. They can also be equipped with very high volumes of RAM, several processors, and a multitude of different disks.

What is a premium server used for?

A premium server, also called a high-end server, is designed for intensive resource usage, with high-volume workloads that require reliable, high-performance hardware. These uses include big data, machine learning, artificial intelligence in general, and resource-intensive applications.
