Linux gives you the freedom to select your workplace environment, as well as security and tool integration. A selection of these operating systems are available to pre-install via the OVHcloud Control Panel, whether they are for hosting websites, databases, or business applications. You can also install the distribution you want.

Linux licences
Most Linux licences are open source, and made available for free. Some distributions — like Red Hat Enterprise Linux — require a paid licence, which you can subscribe to when placing your order. As a result, the price of your Linux server will depend on the price for renting the dedicated server. This price will be fixed depending on the RAM, CPU and disk space you want — and the licence price, if you opt for a paid distribution.
